Account Manager

This position requires strategic thinking, planning and budgeting, client services, account management, technical knowledge and problem solving skills, as well as a team-first mentality. The Account Manager is charged with managing multiple agency accounts, overseeing the development of marketing campaigns, websites, and understanding client goals. It's a people-oriented job – managing clients as well as internal and external resources – all to develop and launch effective, results-driven deliverables. Must be adept at client relations, understanding client needs, strategic planning, and delivering excellent execution in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Execution of marketing plans and strategies, including digital tools such as website and social media

  • Work with clients to uncover needs and objectives, craft appropriate solutions, and identifies/implements ideas to help achieve client goals

Provide strategic and technology leadership

  • Work with clients to uncover needs and objectives, craft appropriate solutions, and identifies/implements ideas to help achieve client goals
  • Utilize problem-solving techniques and strategic thinking to oversee the development of client websites
  • Identify solutions to help sites become key strategic tools for the client
  • Stay abreast of technology trends and new technology solutions

Build and grow client relationships

  • Serve as day-to-day liaison with clients
  • Understand clients' business and goals, and generate new ideas to enhance client performance
  • Build trust, credibility, and client referrals
  • Develop multi-tiered agency-client relationships and ties

Effectively work within a team

  • Collaborate with technology team to execute website development
  • Work with design team to brainstorm how the brand and client goals combine to create an ideal online experience
  • Foster teamwork and a constructive work environment
  • Provide team leadership that rewards creativity and builds trust

Manage Financial Performance

  • Achieve client targets within the context of the underlying opportunity
  • Maintain or improve account profitability
  • Precisely manage budget expenditures and support documentation
  • Work with business development team to develop new client sales proposals

Special Skills

  • College degree required; Marketing, Journalism, Advertising or Public Relations preferred
  • At least 2 years’ experience, preferably at an agency, working with large-scale marketing campaigns or technology projects 
  • Strong experience and capabilities in strategic thinking, brand development, creative development, online marketing, advertising, social media, and campaign implementation and management
  • Familiarity of various CMS platforms and analytics
  • Online capabilities: must understand the role web plays in overall marketing strategies
  • Ability to manage a project from concept through production
  • Proven experience in managing teams working cross-functionally within an agency
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Must have keen attention to detail and be well-organized
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to work with a wide range of people
  • Ability to adapt to the often-changing needs of clients and/or the agency
